ABOUT ME
Victoria Paeglis-Brueschweiler is an artist based in Switzerland who works with a variety of media, including acrylic, ink, pencil, and watercolor. She combines a realistic representation of her subjects with bold, abstract color schemes, often referred to as "spontaneous realism." Black-and-white photographs serve as her starting point, helping her capture figures, their proportions, and the geometry shaped by light. From stark contrasts, she gradually builds layers of vibrant colors and intricate details to achieve balance and harmony. Instead of traditional descriptions, Victoria accompanies her paintings with song lyrics, often in her mother tongue, which frame her emotions and thoughts in a poetic way.
